In 2001, RIFF began as a cultural program to showcase new talent and appeal to the Italian community’s quest for innovative film making. Since its exception, RIFF has debuted films from 5 continents. Many of the showcased films during the festival ultimately continue to achieve critical acclaim, such as Norway Oscar-nominated “Kiss by Winter” by Sara Johnsen.

Over 1,000 international filmmakers enter the competition, and those are narrowed down to some 150 works of national and international premiers at RIFF, the country’s leading purveyor of independent film. The films shown during the festival are new and exclusive to the event.

The Rome Marathon combines the excitement of athleticism at its finest with the dazzling views of the great city to provide an excellent experience. The Rome Marathon will be held on March 18, 2012. 

Beginning in front of the 2000 year old Coliseum and weaving throughout the city’s ancient and colorful downtown structure, the Rome Marathon not only offers the 42 km run but a fun run as well. This Roma fun run has attracted thousands of participants just as the Rome Marathon has in the past. The fun run will offer a non competitive course which will be held at the same time as the 42 km race. The fun run invites any participant of any running skill level.
