Festival of the Republic

If you will be traveling through Italy in June then you will be lucky enough to experience one of Italy’s most patriotic and unique events. The Festival of the Republic, held June 2 each year, has been celebrated since 1946 when the Italian people stood up and voted Italy into a republic. The celebrations for the Festival of the Republic will be spotted all around the city of Rome on June 2, 2012.

In celebration of the magnificent accomplishment, on the Festival of the Republic day the party will be kicked off by a huge military parade in the center of Rome. The leaders of the great city and country officials will be present at the parade, offering a unique opportunity for any visitor. During the Festival of the Republic celebrations there will be a grand feast in any home or restaurant.
