Ferragosta in Rome
A trip to Italy in August is filled with special events and festivities. Perhaps one of the most charming and fun is Ferragosta, or Assumption day, on August 15th, a national holiday particular to Italy.
While many stores and restaurants close for the day during Ferragost in Rome, you can join the city in a day of celebration when everyone becomes Italian for a day. This national holiday is full of fun activities, food, drink, and pageants.
