The Roma Europa Festival
Since 1980, The Roma Europa Festival has been providing a venue for performing artists from many disciplines and is one of the most anticipated events of its kind worldwide. Held yearly in various local venues, the festival brings together performances of all genres from classic to contemporary.
In addition to being one of the most exciting events of the season, The Roma Europa Festival is also a huge cultural undertaking that gives audiences exposure to dozens of performances in theater, music, dance, and has expanded to include dramatic readings and drumming, among others. The event was developed to promote contemporary performing arts and is considered a very significant event in the arts.
Showcasing different cultural expressions, the event is a colorful and lively display that attracts leading international artists. As the event has developed, it has also become a place to discover emerging talents and new trends in drama, dance, music, musical theatre and multimedia works.
Performances are always of the highest caliber. The 2010 event opened with Orphée by the Odella Compagnie Montalvo- Hervieu, followed by a performance by Laurent Garnier and the performances in 2011 will no doubt be just as exciting. Scheduel appearances include Romeo Castellucci and Societas who will retell "Pastor's Black Veil" by Nathaniel Hawthorne and Ricci Fort will present "Soap Wunderkammer" at the Macro.
The entire program will be available online soon and 2011 promises to be a memorable event.
