100 Painters in Via Margutta
The famed Roman festival featuring “100 Painters in Via Margutta” has been held annually for over 60 years. This year, the famous event will be October 28-November 1.
This annual art celebration has been taking place in Rome every year since 1953, and was even featured in the classic Hollywood film Roman Holiday. However, these days the festival will showcase many more “100 Painters in Via Margutta,” now thousands of artists of all mediums and style will present their art to the public.
Every year since it’s inception, “100 Painters in Via Margutta” is held in Rome’s popular arts neighborhood Campo Marzio. This old “foreigners” quarter of the city has been the touchstone for many Roman musicians, artists, writers and sculptors for centuries. It originally existed as a place where foreign craftsman resided. Now it is full of trendy cafes, restaurants, shops and galleries. A visit to this section of the city is a must-do while in Rome.
This year the art festival will take place on October 28-November 1 and admission is free.
